Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade The process of upgrading an item, often known as “upping,” improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment gives an increase in the linearity of the stats of a particular. Players can recycle six items at a time to gain a gauge for each item's upgraded component. The cost of recycling items scales according to their rarity and level. Upgrade components In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade to an item is a method to boost the stats of your weapon and armor. This can be done through a number of means, including using upgrade components as well as increasing an item's mark level or rarity. A lot of items can be reforged to boost their stats. Upgradeable items are available all over the game, both in the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also make them. Upgrade components are the primary method to upgrade equipment. The amount of upgrade components required for a specific item can be seen in the upper-right corner of the window for upgrading. The cost of upgrading increases depending on the rarity and level of the item. However you can cut down on the cost by purchasing upgrades from a merchant or trading them with other players. Nearly all weapons can be upgraded with a prefix upgrade for example, an insignia, or a rune. Many can be upgraded with an upgrade suffix. These upgrades change the name of the item to add an adjective, like “Radiant” or “Minor Vigor. There are some exceptions, however. the non-inscribable weapons, such as shields and foci from Prophecies and Factions campaigns, that cannot be upgraded using any kinds of mods in any way. Glyphs Glyphs are a way to convey information via visuals. They animate in order to grab the viewer's eye and entice curiosity. The glyphs' animation mimics the body language, making them more effective in communicating an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs also evoke a sense of familiarity in the brain, thereby increasing retention of the message. Each glyph can increase a stat's value by a specific amount. This is shown on the item's page when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This range is not the exact amount at which glyphs can improve a stat, but the maximum value by which it is able to do so. The value of the glyph depends on the tier and the quality of the item you are enchanting. The majority of upgrade components that are slotted into items can't be replaced or salvaged without removing the gear in question, unless it is legendary equipment and upgrades. However, if you have a rune or glyph that has not yet been applied to your gear, you can move it to a different piece gear by using the upgrade Glyphs context menu within the Glyphs panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the chosen glyph. You can take out the glyph using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item where the glyph is located will be destroyed, however the upgraded item can be retrieved with the glyph shards. If you take an item off after adding a glyph the shards that are part of that glyph will disappear. You can also place an inscription to your equipment to increase its value. Deferred Damage, for example can store damage, and then be dealt slowly to the wearer rather than all at once. This is useful for those who take many hits from their enemies but do not want to be overwhelmed. Reroll tokens Reroll tokens can be used to change the affixes that are placed on weapons and equipment. They can be obtained from various sources, including mysterious boxes and rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Each reroll token gives the player a brand new random affix, which is typically superior to the one they had before. Reroll tokens are also a great method to reroll the stats of a weapon and can be upgraded for better damage or other perks. Items that have been rerolled do not appear in the upgrade menu, but they still qualify to receive upgrades. If you click the “upgrade button” you can recycle the rerolled items. This will change the layout of the item's window and let up to six items be chosen to recycle. Recycling an item adds small amount of points to its gauge of level. This amount is determined based on the item's rarity and its level. Thus, items with higher levels are more valuable for recycling than items with lower levels. In addition to tokens for rerolls players can also use Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to roll the weapon traits of an upgraded unit. Rerolls will determine the % chance of a weapon trait. If it is higher, the weapon will be upgraded. If it rolls lower, it remains unchanged. Weapons can be repeated up to three times. Rerolls are a good option for upgrading an item, but players must be aware that it could reduce the overall ilvl the weapon by the number of rerolls used to increase it to the final level. This lowering effect is most effective with Diadems and ring items that do not have any other options for raising ilvls. Players have complained that the reroll system is too expensive. It would be fairer to let people pay for it with cash or food items which allows players to make adjustments to their builds without having to invest excessive amounts of time. However the paid rerolls aren't something that the developers would like to implement at this point in the game's development. Instead, they're planning to include an option to change the race in the near future. Leveling There are many ways to boost the value of an item upgrade. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade that increases the value of an upgrade for the stat. The second option is to boost the effect of the upgrade, which can increase the healing or damage for an individual stat. Finally you have the option to upgrade the base item to an upgrade type. The upgraded item will keep its iLevel, but will have the upgraded effects of the upgraded item. It is important to remember that upgrades are random. Most of the time the chance of a better roll will result from glyphs, however there are also chances for greater or special rolls. The item type will also determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a unique or rare item to a special kind of item, it has a chance of getting an additional level. Upgrading items can be costly especially when you're upgrading a piece of gear from the normal to the legendary track. The price will depend on the item's iLevel base and the number of upgrade levels it offers. In addition, some upgrade tracks require crests in order to get to the next upgrade level. If you're fortunate the upgraded item will get to the top of its upgrade track, and thus unlock an additional benefit. This will provide a significant increase in the value of the item. item upgrades can change with each upgrade level, however. In general, the effect of upgrading is increased a value of +3. The iLevel can also change depending on the item's upgrade path and its base level. For example, a weapon that is upgraded from a rare or exclusive item to a rare or exceptional item will be able to get the enhanced defense of the new base item type.
